Public Opinion Lab
Research Assistant
As a research assistant for the University's Public Opinion Lab, my role is to help students, faculty, and external corporations conduct social media analysis on events or products. Our lab utilizes the industry standard software Crimson Hexagon to pull data from sites like Twitter. Additionally, we will often write codes to scrape the data clean and perform stats on them to find any correlations that the AI software might have missed.
WBRC Fox 6 Birmingham
Research Intern
WBRC is a Fox affiliate owned by Raycom Media. Their first ever research intern, I worked in their sales department underneath Micah McAfee the Regional Media Analytics Director who has been at the station for more than a decade. I learned the theory and application of ratings software like Nielsen and comScore, but also how the research impacts every level of the station.
Television Academy
Research Intern
As a research intern for Endemol Shine, a majority of my day was spent pulling nightly ratings and demographic data from Nielsen and organizing and coding the data in Excel sheets. I assited with putting a comprehensive slideshow on how consumers were using streaming in their daily TV consumption and how to measure and better reach individuals in this space.
